Jesus told us in Matthew 12:26 that when kingdoms or households are divided against themselves they cannot stand.
Did you know we can be divided against ourselves? We can be destroying ourselves from within.
You may not even realize that you are living with a division inside of you. One way to be divided against yourself is to live your daily life with a nagging regret brewing right under the surface. A regret that begs for another chance to retract a situation or handle a delicate relationship with more finesse.
Years go by, and you just can’t seem to shake off the pain of regret. It’s a painful place to navigate and when we don’t recognize it’s there, it can wreak havoc in other areas of our lives.
How do we shake if off?
First, we need to come to the Lord and confess any wrongdoing on our part. We hand to Him the guilt and shame we’ve been carrying. We anchor ourselves deep inside our spirit with the truth of His Word and learn to build ourselves up from there so the Holy Spirit can work inside of us.
Begin the process of standing in unity with yourself. All the parts. The good, the bad and the ugly. Not dividing certain seasons from the other. You are a whole person and the power of unity in your spirit will shine when the inner child, the young adult and the seasoned adult walk together hand in hand with each other.
Remember that at the time, you made the best decision you could. Let it go and learn that when things fail, even then God can use it for your good.
When it rears its ugly head and the parts of you that use to ruminate over the failure start up again, turn to the Lord in prayer immediately. Give Him complete access to the turmoil and refuse to continue to brush it away.
When we refuse to deal with it, it remains hidden in darkness.
Daniel 2:22 says, “He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with Him.”
Exposing your regret to the light of God will begin to break up its fallow ground and restore you from the inside releasing its hold on you.
Psalm 133: 1,3
“How good and pleasant it is when Gods people live together in unity…..for there the Lord bestows His blessing even life forevermore.”
Remember that the power of unity has to start within yourself first. How good and pleasant it is when I stand in unity with myself.
It makes the journey of standing in unity with others as God commanded so much easier. We are bound to every believer because of our position in Christ. He has brought us together as brothers and sisters in the bond of peace.
In that place, we are to live with each other with a sense of harmony and camaraderie.
That doesn’t mean we have to agree on everything, we can learn to respectfully disagree and not quench this enormous power of unity as we are moving as one body across the earth.
They will know we are Christians by the way we love one another.
That power of unity first starts within ourselves, then as we grab the hands of fellow believers, we become a force to be reckoned with.
In this place of unity, we are standing together with God as an army equipped with His power.
There in that place of unity, He bestows a blessing to each of us even life forevermore.
I believe in you,
Love, Barbie
